Neena Laxalt

Kathleen “Neena” Laxalt is a descendent of immigrants from the “Basque Country” and Ireland who came to Nevada to pursue sheepherding, mining and governmental positions. She is a second generation Nevadan and grew up in Carson City. She is the youngest daughter of Former Governor/U.S. Senator Paul Laxalt and Jackalyn Ross Laxalt. Neena began her lobbying career in Arizona in 1987 with the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality and has continued her career after her return to Nevada in 1995. She represents a variety of interests in the state which provide her a diverse perspective of many facets of Nevada. In 2011, Governor Sandoval named Ms. Laxalt as Co-Chair of the Nevada Sesquicentennial Planning Committee along with Bob Brown, Publisher of the Las Vegas Review Journal. In 2013, Governor Sandoval appointed Ms. Laxalt to serve on the Nevada 150 Commission under the Chairmanship of Lt. Governor Brian Krolicki, where she serves as his Vice-Chair. Neena is a single mother of one daughter, Kevan Danielle Laxalt, 30.
